Standing Strong Like Lohkay: Pushing for a Better Sint Maarten.

Wa going on?

Welcome to our space, where we draw inspiration from One-Tété Lohkay, a true Sint Maarten hero who never backed down. She stood up for what was right during the hardest times. Now, it's our turn to face our own challenges.

Let’s break it down: Sint Maarten is more than just an island in the hurricane belt; we've been facing our own kind of storms since Noah was a little boy.

You've probably noticed, right? “Leaders” who seem to forget us the moment they're sworn in. Our schools, hospital, and buildings, once our pride, now look like they're only remembered when it's time for a photo op. And then, there's the endless popping up of Asian corners shops and lottery booths on every corner, while our own people can't seem to get a foot in the door.

It's beyond frustrating. We've got shady "leaders" who are evidently not the best fit for the job, and it feels like some families treat leadership like it's a family business, passing it down like an old watch.

But here's our take: Nobody knows what Sint Maarten needs better than we do. Politicians? They should be bringing our solutions to life, not pretending they have all the answers. The real power lies with us, the people. When we come together, we're too loud to be ignored. They've got to listen – that's their job.

This blog is more than just a place to voice our opinions; it's where we stand up together. We're tired of the focus being on the messenger and not the message. In Sint Maarten, it's too easy to dismiss a good idea just because of who it comes from. We're here to change that.

We want to use this blog to speak openly and honestly about our opinions and views, without the fear of being "targeted" for our messages. This is our battlefield for change, a call to arms for all of us to take action together.

So, wha yuh say? Ready to join us and make some noise? Let's show them who's really in charge and raise our voices for the Sint Maarten we all deserve!
